Under the new leadership, the collection of religious and church related articles was expanded to complete. Sadly, the store was destroyed during World War II. However, in 1948 a new retail store was opened in the center of Munich. After Joseph Püttmann's death, his son Bernhard took over the family business and founded a manufacturing shop that focused on time honored craftsmanship in the design and creation of church articles.

the manufacturing shop was sold to the production foreman, Thomas Keim. The bond between the Schreibmayr company and Keim has remained strong over the years and a close business relationship has flourished.

the firm J.G. Schreibmayr celebrated its 175 year anniversary. The celebration was opened with a special Mass at the renown Holy Ghost Church. The music of Josef Haydn served as a touching backdrop to a very significant occasion. After the Mass, a special presentation in the great hall of Munich's "Rathaus" (City Hall) opened with unique treasures of religious art and church articles. After an opening statement by Father Kastenhofer, Mr. Andreas Püttmann presented a retrospective of the company's history and then his vision for the company's directions for the future.

After 36 years, Mrs. Elisabeth Püttmann ended her esteemed career of leadership at Schreibmayr and turned her attention to mission work. Her son, Andreas Püttmann assumed the leadership of the company.
In January 1996, Schreibmayr moved to a new, very generous and centrally situated location in Munich, Senserstraße 15.
Today, Schreibmayr combines its long history and rich tradition of craftsmanship with modern advances in service and selection.
